“Anymore” is the second single of the upcoming EP ‘Philia’ by dreampop duo Maida Rose, and the third review on Fadeawayradiate. It celebrates a decade of friendship between ultra-talented songwriters Javièr den Leeuw and Roos Meijer from The Netherlands. It’s a slow, introspective ballad with distinct influences from Beach House and Japanese Breakfast ‘ more sombre works like “This House” and “Boyish“.
Maida Rose on the single: “Anymore” showcases a new layer of the duo’s raw vulnerability and intimate storytelling. Taking on the heartbreaking subject of a loved one who is contemplating the weight of existence, Maida Rose unveils the intricate dance between supporting someone you love in the midst of an inner storm and the looming risk of one’s own emotional turmoil.”
With this release today on World Mental Health Day, Maida Rose brings us a musical reminder that even in the most challenging times, we are worthy of life.
The EP release concert will be in Paradiso/Amsterdam and on the 17th of November in The Finsbury (London).
