The new single “Paper Cup” from dream/jangle poppers Real Estate is well worth the wait! Their forthcoming album Main Thing will follow up their album In Mind (2017), and will be released on February 28th via Domino. “Paper Cup” has been produced in collaboration with Amelia Meath from synth pop duo Sylvan Esso which is also first guest appearance on a Real Estate release to date. The result is a song about getting older, that sounds dreamy, laidback and melancholy – as per usual – but “Paper Cup” is noticeably more lush in sound then its forerunners. The extra vocals and layers of mellow groove, strings and folky guitar solo’s give “Paper Cup” a warmth and dimension that sounds more than promising, and makes me really look forward to the new album which I will be playing next to my beloved “Oncle Jazz”.
