Remington Super 60 – I Don’t Wanna Wait

In July last year we introduced and featured the first fresh material in a while from Norwegian retro indiepop outfit Remington Super 60 (Remington Super 60 – The Highway Again). This time they release another single – “I Don’t Wanna Wait” – and a whole new EP simply called  “New EP” released on January 29th (to be found and checked out here)I Don’t Wanna Waitis an understated, dreamy retro-scape to be enjoyed best whilst traveling down the windy roads of Europe or soaking up some rays on one of its many terraces. Bedroom songwriter Christopher Schou‘s musical influences range from 60’s pillars like Bacharach, Wilson, and The Velvet Underground to more recent bands like Stereolab, High Llamas and Saint Etienne, and all these influences are still audible, but in this track, I also detect a subtle waft of current dreampop, which adds something nicely contemporary to their otherwise rather era-bound sound.  I highly recommend listening to the new EP (especially the last 2 tracks “Dreaming of Summer “and “Dina Hender”) which is released on Christopher‘s own label Café Superstar Recordings and Slovakian casssette label Z-Tapes.
