I am supposed to be on a break but just I wanted to share this wonderful album with the world for a bit, because it is too good not to! French band Good Morning TV released their album Small Talk on June 18, 2021 and albeit late, I think I am still in time to tell you not to miss out on it.
Good Morning TV is a new dreampop band hailing from Paris, comprised of Bérénice Deloire that writes and composes all the songs, aided by by Barth Bouveret on the production. The music of the band can be described as a more unsettling, slightly less mellow Men I Trust, with the psychedelic gorgeousness of Broadcast, the quirkiness of Stereolab and the retro vibes of Tennis and Vinyl Williams. Expect lots of dreamy guitars, hazy vocals, quirky jazz chords and proggy solo’s! Bliss!
Highlights of the album are “Lethargic Way“, “Emptiness Overload“, “Pizza Delivery Girl“, “Tourism Business pt.2” (my fav!) and “Blue Veins“. Small Talk is no small feat and will definitely be on heavy rotation here in the mornings!
