As I already told half the world: I think Draag are the best and most innovative shoegaze band of today. After epic album “Dark Fire Heresy“of last year they have another LP in the making, mysterioulsy named “Actually, the quiet is nice“. So far, Draag has graced us with 2 tracks of this forthcoming piece of work. “Orb Weaver” was released on April 2nd and “Microgravity Tank” came out very recently, on May 7th. Both are outstanding tracks, and it seems there’s just no end to the talent in this group.
“Microgravity Tank” is my favourite of the two tracks so far. It is signature Draag: drenched in dreaminess, oozing deep emotion and liminality: an aural realm where noise, atmospheric synths and layers of gorgeous vocals are precariously balanced. Like falling into a warm bath. As usual, they provided some evocative visuals which can be viewed below. All in all it is exquisite stuff that will undoubtedly please gourmet shoegazers. It’s what we are here for!
