Dayflower – Sweet Georgia Gazes

The newest Dayflower single“Sweet Georgia Gazes”premiered today on Fadeawayradiate!!!:

“Sweet Georgia Gazes” has a less fuzzy sound than “Neverfriend” and less psychey than the excellent “Seeing Up“:  it’s a is a very summery janglepop track that takes us back to our heroes from the late 80’s like Johnny Marr, The La’s, the Mock Turtles, the Railway Children and the Sundays.  Think crisp guitar melodies, languid vocals, and layers of sunshine pop harmonies …..  a bit like running through a field of Sunflowers underneath a canopy of the bluest of blue skies! Enjoy the streaming of the track below!

Dayflower are:
Alex Clemence: vocals, guitar, keys/Chris Merriman: electric guitar, electric 12-string, vocals
David Dhonau: bass, acoustic guitar, bass VI, vocal fx, tambourine Simon Bland: drums, vocals /featuring Leonie DuBarry-Gurr on Girl Vocals with special thanks.

Based on original mixes engineered by Alan Smyth at 2Fly Studios, Sheffield in Autumn 2016. www.2flystudios.com/. Mastered by Joel Evans.

David: “The basic band tracks were recorded at with Alan Smyth (Arctic Monkeys, Pulp) at 2Fly studios in Sheffield, which suited a slightly more accessible indie pop sound, but we’ve taken the time to blend in some lush harmonies and ethereal textures.”
Dedicated to our mutual dear friend Chris Tressler, for the love of . . . we miss you…
