As late Fall descends on the Midwestern US, I find myself needing bright and shiny tunes to help ease in that transition. “A Passing Phase” the latest track by Floridian Cathedral Bells, dreampop project of Matthew Messore, does exactly that: echoing memories of a colder morning that is softened by a warm cup of coffee and sitting in the direct sunlight.

The driving bass line keeps everything moving while the distorted guitars overlap with the synths making a fuzzy mixture of melody, yet the vocals are still clear and present; giving the track that distinct dreampop feel we have all come to know and love
Sounding like early Wild Nothing and welding heavy post-punk vibes; I could listen to this track over and over. If you need a little pick me up, go ahead and treat yourself to a replay or two.
