Following 2018’s “September Love” album, Stockholm’s jangle-pop outfit Stephen’s Shore are back with a brandnew EP entitled “Brisbane Radio” that will be released on January 22nd via Meritorio Records. Some will be pleased to hear that the first single, bearing the same name as the EP, releases today!
Stephen’s Shore started out as a two man project by Viktor Sjödin and Erik J Undéhn in 2011. They had both been playing in other bands before but when they started to write songs as Stephen’s Shore, they felt that they were a perfect musical match. When P.A Blomqvist, Johan Dittmar and Mattias Berqvist, joined the duo, Stephen’s Shore, became a full band. The bond between these 5 together band-members is a love for West-Coast pop, jangly guitar-music, and skateboarding.
Single “Brisbane Radio” reminds us exactly why we love Stephen’s Shore and keep wanting to hear from them. It’s a laid-back but classic jangle-pop track in the tradition of our favourite jangle-bands like REM and Real Estate. It’s a sunny-day-stroll somewhere in cloudless Brisbane, with a gentle breeze caressing your hair: not a single fire, shark or ozone flaw in sight in the blue, blue sky in the land of Oz.
