When you think you’ve heard it all, along comes a track like “Tracey”: a track that heads in all posible directions and a composition that is pretty hard to pin down. It’s a bit of challenge on the ears but I don’t usually shy away from that. It has all kinds of influences to my taste: it’s a bit twee, a bit psychey, and has traces of 80’s and 60’s pop all melded into something quirky, uplifting and interesting.
Stefan Reyners is a baroque/chamber pop artist from New Zealand, who sounds remarkably like a mix between Lloyd Cole and Louis Philippe, only a bit more off the rails. Quite delightful!
